As a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional, he has extensive experience spanning all levels of design, construction, and firm operations, making him a versatile leader in the field.

Derek's diverse portfolio includes a wide array of project types, such as government facilities, educational institutions, office buildings, retail spaces, senior housing, healthcare centers, and residential developments. His expertise also extends to unique and complex projects, such as managing the design and construction of a scientific research station in McMurdo, Antarctica. This breadth of experience has honed his ability to adapt to varied challenges while delivering innovative, functional, and sustainable solutions.

In addition to his project expertise, Derek is skilled in critical technical aspects of architecture, including Code Analysis, Specification Writing, and BIM software.
